LYNNFIELD NATIVE Matt Filipe recently signed with his hometown Boston Bruins on a two-year entry level contract. The former Malden Catholic star played four seasons as a winger at Northeastern University totaling 75 points in 136 collegiate games. Filipe, an alternate captain for the Huskies this past season, was a third round draft pick in 2016 by the Carolina Hurricanes but opted to stay in school and become a free agent.
