McGonagle_Phyllis_OBIT_webLYNNFIELD — Phyllis A. McGonagle, 87, of Lynnfield, died Saturday, September 10, 2016 in Lynnfield. She was born in Boston on January 22, 1929 and was the daughter of the late James and Katherine (Howe) Lapsley.

She was raised in Brookline and Brighton and was retired from the former New England Telephone Company. She had been a Lynnfield resident since 1973 and had been a member of the Centre Club of Lynnfield and the Past President of the Newcomers Club of Lynnfield. She was also a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.

Mrs. McGonagle was the beloved wife of the late Joseph D. McGonagle. She was the loving mother of Elaine M. Moorman and her husband Stephen of Lynnfield, Janice K. Coye and her husband William of Plaistow, N.H., and Daniel J. McGonagle of California. She was the grandmother of Caitilyn, Joseph, Lauren, Lindsey and Andrew. She was also the sister of the late Gertrude Keefe, Grace Bowler and Marion Loughran.

Calling hours for Mrs. McGonagle were held at the McDonald Funeral Home in Wakefield on Tuesday morning followed by her funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Lynnfield. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
