Ramona-Stauffer-obit-5-19-17-webMELROSE — Ramona Stauffer, 35, of Melrose, passed away unexpectedly on May 14, 2017.

Born on June 4, 1981, Ramona was the beloved daughter of Carl and Jessica (Hines) Stauffer. She was raised in Melrose and was a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1999. Following high school, Ramona continued her education at the at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, earning a degree in Pharmaceutical Science. Ramona pursued a career in the field for several years, working at Rite Aid as well as a Cancer Research Study Company out of Boston. Her true love, however was animals. Ramona loved to care for all kinds of animals and worked as a veterinary assistant for the Melrose Animal Clinic.

Ramona was a talented dancer and artist and loved to be around kids. She was a beautiful and intelligent woman that had an infectious smile that would light up the room. She will truly be missed by her family and friends.

Ramona is survived by her parents, Carl and Jessica (Hines) Stauffer of Melrose. She is also survived by her brother, Perry Stauffer and his wife Lauren of Melrose. She is also survived by her nieces, Charlotte and Liana Stauffer; her grandparents, Anne and the late Robert Stauffer of Somerville; and Stella and the late Edward Hines of Watertown. Ramona is also survived by her aunts and uncles, Sharon and Michael Reed of South Carolina; Steven Stauffer of Somerville; Roberta Gelb of Worcester; and Paula and Steve Kerrigan of Melrose. She is survived by several cousins as well.

Family and friends are invited for visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rt. 62), Wilmington, on Monday, May 22, from 11 a.m.-12 p.m., immediately followed by a funeral service at 12 p.m. Memorial donations in Ramona’s name can be made to the MSPCA Angell Headquarters, 350 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130.
