STONEHAM — Randall P. McDonnell, 69, of Stoneham, died Thursday, Oct. 13, at the Salem Hospital.

Born in New Haven, Conn. on Nov. 16, 1946, he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Elizabeth M. (Curnen) McDonnell.

Mr. McDonnell was raised in New Haven and Milford, Conn and was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1964. He then went on to receive his bachelor’s degree from the University of New Haven and then his master’s in Health Care Administration from University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School in 1974.

He had worked in a number of hospitals throughout his career, most notably Massachusetts General Hospital, St. Lawrence Hospital in Lansing, Mich. and Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Dyer, Ind.

Mr. McDonnell was a member of St. Joseph Parish and enjoyed cooking and wood working.

He was the beloved husband of Caryl A. (McGrody) McDonnell. He was the loving father of Randall P. McDonnell Jr. and his wife Brooke of Havertown, Pa., Elizabeth Miller of Lafayette, Ind. and Anne McDonnell of Somerville. He was the brother of Betsy McCarthy of Orange, Conn. and the late Kathi Bissell and Kevin McDonnell. He is also survived by his grandchildren Caroline and Brandon McDonnell and Ethan Miller.

His funeral will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield, on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
