Finosobit-webWAKEFIELD — Victor P. Finos, 94, of Wakefield entered into rest on Saturday, Oct. 15, in the Lahey Medical Center in Burlington.

Born in Prodolone, San Vito, Italy, Victor resided in Everett for many years. He graduated from Everett High School where he played various varsity sports.

Victor had the good fortune of being sponsored into the United States Naval Academy and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 1942, during World War II, Victor entered the United States Navy and served honorably until his discharge in 1947. Victor was recalled by the Navy in 1952, during the Korean Conflict, and served honorably until his discharge in 1954.

As a mechanical engineer,
Victor was employed by the
General Electric Company from 1948 until 1985.

He was the son of the late Raffaele and Assunta (Deganuto) Finos. He was the beloved husband of Lucy M. (Mazzone) for over 68 years. He was the dear and devoted father of Ralph P. Finos and his wife Janice Antonellis of Holliston, Elizabeth A. Finos of Arlington, Va., Michael R. Finos of Wakefield and Trinity Pease and her husband William of Sarasota, Fla. He was the brother of the late Bianca Pesella. He was the loving Grandpa of Marisa Finos, Elisa Finos, Ashley Ryan, Matthew Finos and Christopher Finos and loving Papa of Parker Nassal and Ardenn Ryan.

The funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, on Thursday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield, at 10 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 5-8 p.m.

Interment with Military Honors in Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
