LYNNFIELD — The Lynnfield Athletic Association’s 50th annual Fourth of July 5K Road Race returns on Tuesday, July 4 beginning at 9 a.m.

The race starts and finishes at Lynnfield Town Hall, 55 Summer St. Runners will head down Summer Street and will turn right onto Walnut Street. Participants will then turn left onto Thomas Road, and will turn left back onto Summer Street and head back to Town Hall.

This is a family-friendly event. Awards are given in a variety of age groups ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over. There will be a D.J. and raffles. Whether participants are looking for a personal record or want to enjoy a leisurely run, the race will be held rain or shine.

All proceeds from the Fourth of July Road Race benefit athletic programs and provide scholarships for deserving student-athletes of Lynnfield High School.

Race day registration begins at 7:30 a.m. at Lynnfield Town Hall. The registration fee for children ages 11 and under is $15. The registration fee for adolescents ages 12-18 is $20. The registration fee for runners ages 19 and over is $25.

Individuals who register online before Monday, June 26 are guaranteed to receive a T-shirt. Wakefield Co-operative Bank is a returning sponsor of the LAA Fourth of July Road Race.
