Chisholm-obit-webMELROSE — Renee Chisholm, 48, passed away at her home in Melrose on Sept. 23.

Renee was born in Lowell on Jan. 20, 1968, was raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1986 and attended Essex Aggie for two years.

She was a lifelong resident of Melrose.

Miss Chisholm worked as the animal control officer for the City of Melrose for 10 years.

Renee was very proud of her Irish Heritage; in her younger years she was a talented Irish step dancer and had won several competitions over the years.

She was a lover of animals, especially her dog and cats, enjoyed going to the beach and swimming in the pool and liked to do crossword puzzles.

Renee was a very friendly and outgoing person who loved to interact with people. Above all she was a dedicated and loving mother to her children.

Renee was the beloved daughter of George L. “Midge” and the late Ellen M. (Lacey) Chisholm. She was the loving mother of Daniel Harsh of Melrose, Courtney and Cordelia Harsh of Watertown. She was the cherished sister of David J. Chisholm and his wife Janine of Londonderry, N.H.. She was the caring aunt of Dylan, Kylie and Ryan Chisholm of New Hampshire. She was the loving companion of Mario Sorrenti of Melrose.

Visitation was held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday, Sept. 27, from 4 to 8 p.m., followed by a funeral service at the funeral home on Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Burial at Woodbrook Cemetery in Woburn will be private.
