SAUGUS — Richard Peabody, age 51, died unexpectedly Saturday, February 13 at Melrose Wakefield Hospital. He was the loving husband of Barbara (Alexander) Peabody.
Born in Boston and raised in Lynnfield, he was the son of the late Robert W. and Noreen C. (Crowe) Peabody. He was a Department of Public Works employee for the town of Lynnfield for the last 28 years. He also was an avid golfer.
Besides his wife, Richard is survived by six brothers: James Peabody and wife Kathy of Marblehead; Charles Peabody and his wife Marion of Lynnfield; Stephen Peabody and wife Sally of Andover; Alan Peabody and his wife Betty of Winthrop; Mark Peabody of Byfield; and Kenneth Peabody of New Hampshire. He was the brother-in-law of Lorraine Schlack of California; Jane Alexander of Georgia; Denise Vollmer of Georgia; and Donna Cleary of Lynnfield. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will take place in the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., Saugus, on Wednesday, February 17 from 3-7 p.m., followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 7 p.m.
