WAKEFIELD — Public works administrators this week plan to finalize their list of projects for the fast-approaching 2015 construction season.

According to DPW Director Richard Stinson, he plans to meet tomorrow with his staff to decide what work will be done this year.

One significant early project will be the cold planing and repaving of North Avenue from Route 128 to Church Street. Stinson said the town wants to have that part of North Avenue done by June 20 at the latest. The work will also include drainage improvements and handicap accessibitly upgrades along one of the busiest roadway stretches in Wakefield.

The Municipal Gas and Light Department is also doing some street work, set to begin this week. Crews will be replacing an old cast iron gas main on Chestnut Street crossing Main Street. Similar work will soon being on Pine Street in Greenwood.

Additionally, sections of Vernon Street and Water Street are on the WMGLD’s gas main replacement list for this year.
