U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean conflict

OBIT_Robert-Coffill-webANDOVER — Robert G. Coffill Sr., 84, of Andover, formerly of North Reading and Lynnfield, died Tuesday, May 5, 2015.

Born in Melrose on Oct. 20, 1930, he was the son of the late William M. and Charlotte A. Coffill. He attended Lynnfield schools and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1948.

Robert had been a resident of North Reading for over 50 years where he was a member of the Union Congregational Church and a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Coffill worked for The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company for over 30 years. He was a local businessman and worked for the Union Congregational Church in North Reading.

Robert loved all sports and especially enjoyed fishing. He also enjoyed music and most importantly spending time with family and friends.

He was the loving husband of 49 years to the late Joan M. (Somers) Coffill. He is survived by his brother, William Coffill and his wife Ruth of Lynnfield. He is also survived by his sons, Robert G. Coffill Jr. and Dana W. Coffill and his wife Lisa of North Reading; four special grandchildren: Michael Coffill and Carl, Shanna and Brooke Coffill, all of North Reading.

A memorial service will be held at the Union Congregational Church, 148 Haverhill St., North Reading on Saturday, May 16 at 10 a.m. Calling hours will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow St., North Reading on Friday, May 15 from 5 to 7 p.m.
