Melrose native worked for electronics firms

Robert-Green-obit-Mel-webAMHERST, N.H. — Robert J. Green, 70, of Amherst, formerly of Hollis, N.H. and Melrose, passed peacefully at St. Joseph Hospital on Wednesday, Dec. 30 with his wife and family at his side.
He was born in Melrose on Jan. 19, 1945 and was the son of the late Leo Ambrose and Dorothy Elizabeth (Howard) Green.
He was the husband of Pamela (Rita) Green, whom he has been married to for 28 years.
He was educated in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School and was a graduate of Northeastern University with a degree in Engineering.
Robert moved to Hollis in 1976 from Melrose and had made his home there since 2015.
His career in electronics started at Sanders Associates, now BAE. He continued his career with several electronics firms in the area as well as his own rep firm. He retired in 2010. His later years were spent antiquing and traveling to shows with his wife and friends. Photography, traveling, rooting for his favorite sports teams and spending time with friends were his other favorite pastimes.
His family includes his wife Pamela of Amherst. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Richard and Nancy Green of Wakefield. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Timothy Green and his wife Debbie of Richford, Vt.; Cathy Perron of Haymarket, Va.; Andrea Matthews and her husband Tom of Surry, Maine; Christopher Green and his wife Andrea of Boxford; Mike Green and his wife Jonna of Westford; Julia Verdoni and her husband Vincent of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and John Rita of Glastonbury, Conn.
He is also survived by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Anthony and Marion Rita of Glastonbury Conn.; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Daniel and Lisa Rita of Glastonbury, Conn. He is also survived by eight grandnieces and grandnephews and several cousins.
Visiting hours were held at the Davis Funeral Home, One Lock St., Nashua, N.H. on Wednesday, Jan. 6 from 4-7 p.m. A funeral Mass was celebrated in his behalf on Thursday morning, Jan. 7 at 10 a.m. at St. John Neumann Church, 708 Milford Rd., Merrimack, N.H.
