Former Warrior standout earns NCAA Northeast All-Region honors

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Former Wakefield Warriors cross country and track and field standout, Stephen Robertson, will be competing in the Division 1 NCAA National Championship this Saturday in Terre Haute, Ind.

Robertson attends Providence College.

The 2012 Wakefield graduate was the 2011 All State Cross Country runner up and current indoor record holder in the 1000, one mile and two mile.

He is the third man on the 30th ranked Providence College Friars.

The season included a 13th place finish at the Big East Championship, earning him All Big East honors that helped the Friars to a second place finish.

He finished 24th at regionals, earning him NCAA Northeast All-Region honors and helped the team to a fourth place finish and a berth to nationals.

Robertson will finish his collegiate cross country career with his first trip to Nationals and will be the first Wakefield alumnus to ever compete in a Division 1 NCAA Cross Country Championship Meet.
