Avid free-hand painter, stenciler and reader

LYNNFIELD —Rose Calvo Giunta of Lynnfield passed away peacefully on September 4, 2014 of natural causes, surrounded by her family. She was 91 years old.

Born in Wakefield on March 6, 1923, she was the daughter of Antonio and Sebastiana (Tine) Calvo. Rose married Armand T. Giunta, also of Wakefield, in 1949, and remained his devoted wife until his death in 2006. Rose was an active member of the Centre Congregational Church in Lynnfield, and was an avid free-hand painter, stenciler and reader. A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Rose will be terribly missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Giunta was the wife of the late Armand T. Giunta. She was the loving mother of David Allen Giunta of Wakefield, N.H. and Kenneth Jay Giunta of North Potomac, Md. In addition to her two sons, Rose is also survived by her daughters-in-law, Sharon Merry Giunta and Tara Kalagher Giunta; six grandchildren, Kristin Murphy, Elizabeth Lufkin, James Giunta, Mackenzie Giunta, Aidan Giunta and Sydney Giunta; and seven great-grandchildren, Tylor, Michael, William, Jack, Izabella, Madaline and Ryker.

Services for Rose will be held at the First Baptist Church, 8 Lafayette St., Wakefield on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 11 a.m. Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions in Mrs. Guinta’s name to be made to the Lynnfield Public Library, 18 Summer Street, Lynnfield, MA 01940.
