SAUGUS — Mrs. Rose M. (D’Antona) Palano, age 91, died on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014 at the Bear Hill Nursing Center in Wakefield. She was the wife of the late Joseph Palano.
Born and raised in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Grace (DiBilio) D’Antona. A devoted wife and mother Mrs. Palano co-founded a chain of clothing stores, alano Ltd., with her husband Joseph. They also invested in commercial real estate.
She is survived by three children Kathleen Ray of Boston, Grace Adams and her husband Bruce of Kennebunkport, Maine and James “Jack” Palano and his wife Kim of Wakefield. Also, four grandchildren Kathryn Palano, James “JJ” Palano, Brett Adams and Michael Adams. She was the sister of Marianne Strong of Topsfield and the late Lena Pergola, Josephine Towles and Leo D’Antona.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Summer St., Saugus, on Friday, Nov. 28 at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. For condolences www.BisbeePorcella.com.
