WAKEFIELD — Ruth A. White, 94, of Wakefield and formerly of Reading died on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at the Winchester Hospital.
Born in Malden on Nov. 5, 1921, she was the daughter of the late William and Ellen M. (Long) Buchan.
Mrs. White was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1939. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Wakefield. Mrs. White loved playing bingo, going to yard sales and shopping.
Mrs. White was the wife of the late Edward F. White. She is survived by her son Gary F. White and his wife Susan of North Andover; her two daughters, Karyl R. DeCicco and her husband Anthony of Wakefield and Robin M. Hildreth and her husband Joseph of Burlington; her eight grandchildren and her 12 great-grandchildren. Mrs. White was predeceased by her sister Roberta M. O’Neil.
Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 a.m.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
