Lifelong resident belonged to Most Blessed Sacrament Church

WAKEFIELD — Ruth Ann Dewar, 82, a lifelong Wakefield resident, died Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Winchester Hospital.

Born in Melrose on May 5, 1932, she was the daughter of the Late Francis and Julia Ethel (Cronin) Gutro.

Mrs. Dewar was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1950. She was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church. As a devoted family woman, she loved taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a lover of cats and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.

Mrs. Dewar was the beloved wife of Royce F. Dewar. She was the loving mother of Cynthia M. Bornstein and her husband Steven of Methuen and the late Richard Dewar. She was the sister of Marie Curran of Litchfield, N.H. and the late Richard Francis, Marion Sullivan and Richard F. Gutro. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Jacqueline, Jason, Richard Jr. and Sean, as well as, two great-grandchildren: Braiden and Kyleigh.

Her funeral service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at noon. A visitation for relatives and friends will be held prior to the service beginning at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
