WAKEFIELD — Sally L. Simpson, 74, of Wakefield, formerly of Stoneham, died on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at the Winchester Hospital.

Born in Everett on February 6, 1946, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Helen (Tracy) Smith.

Mrs. Simpson was a graduate of Stoneham High School, Class of 1964. She had been a Wakefield resident since 1979. Mrs. Simpson was a retired typesetter for Addison Wesley Publishers in Reading. She had enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, playing Bingo and volunteering for the Boys & Girls Club in Stoneham.

Mrs. Simpson is survived by her husband Alan J. Simpson, her daughter Pamela L. Kent and her husband Jeremy of Wakefield, her son James A. Simpson and his wife Priscilla of Woburn, her sister Virginia Barry and her husband Tom of Meriden, Conn., her brother Daniel Smith and his wife Cynthia of Lilburn, Ga., her five grandchildren; Alex, Rachel, Jared, Avery and Camryn and her sister-in-law Carol Smith of Wakefield. She was predeceased by her brother Ric Smith.

Visitation for relatives and friends at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., on Thursday from 4-6 p.m. Funeral services will be private.
