Longtime resident was a retired hairdresser

WAKEFIELD — Sarah Rose Scaturro, 99, of Wakefield died May 29 in North Reading.
She was born on July 15, 1917 and was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Josephine (Zaffiro) DiBlasi. She was raised in Revere and was a graduate of Revere High School. She had been a Wakefield resident for more than 40 years and was a retired hairdresser with the former Jordan Marsh Department Store of Boston and also the F.W. Woolworth Company.
Mrs. Scaturro was the beloved wife of the late Anthony Scaturro. She was the loving mother of Michael J. Scaturro and his wife Patricia and Corrine A. DiPietro and her husband Paul all of Wakefield. She was the sister of the late Josephine Zaffiro and Maurice, John and Anna DiBlasi. She was the devoted grandmother of Nicholas Scaturro, Jr., Anthony Scaturro, Julianne Almeida, Corinna Tavano, Maria Georgopoulos and Paul DiPietro Jr. She is also survived by her 12 great grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, Friday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield at 11:30.
Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home Thursday 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
