WAKEFIELD — Shirley L. Waisnor, 97, of Wakefield died on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at the Woodbriar of Wilmington Nursing Center.

Born in Somerville on February 15, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Laura (Pinto) Ring.

Mrs. Waisnor was a lifelong resident of Greenwood and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1939. She worked as a hairdresser for Elizabeth Arden of Newbury Street in Boston and as a cafeteria worker at Northeast Regional Vocational High School in Wakefield. Mrs. Waisnor was a member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Women’s Guild.

She was the wife of the late Anthony J. Waisnor Jr. Mrs. Waisnor was the mother of Jon Waisnor and his wife Anne of Ipswich, Robert Waisnor and his wife Marianne of Westford, Thomas Waisnor of Saugus and the late Neil Waisnor. She was the mother-in-law of Leslie Waisnor. Mrs. Waisnor was the sister of the late Arthur Ring, Harold Ring, Robert Ring, Lois Parr, and Theodore Berns. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday at 10 a.m. followed by an interment at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield. There are no calling hours.
