NORTH READING — Dana Owen, the author of “Shotgunned: The long ordeal of a wounded cop seeking justice,” will be doing a book signing event on Saturday, Dec. 12, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Carr’s Hallmark Store in the Stop & Shop Plaza at 265 Main St.

Owen was a young MDC police officer living in North Reading in 1975, when he and his partner pursued a hijacked U.S. Mail truck from Boston all the way to Winchester, where Owen was shot twice and left for dead. “Shotgunned” tells the story of Owen’s years–long search to track down the hijackers and see them brought to justice.

William J. Bratton, New York City Police Commissioner, said, “Dana Owen’s true story is a thrilling and enlightening account of courage and determination. His ordeal and subsequent search for justice, told with humor and wisdom, is a good example of Why Cops Count.”
