NORTH READING — The O’Leary Senior Center will be celebrating its annual “Spring Fling” on Thursday, April 11.

Enjoy pizza and salad for lunch at noon. After lunch guests will participate in an interactive presentation of “Revere Beach, Then and Now” by Bob Upton. His slide show of the beach that will be shown on the center’s large screen TV, and he will encourage participation with the audience.

Revere Beach was the country’s first public beach, established in 1896, and was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 2003. Come share special memories of Rotherham’s Red Indian popcorn, Moxie, Korr Bros. Frozen Custard and Kelly’s Roast Beef as well as the Big Band music heard at the Oceanview Ballroom and Frolic Nightclub, and learn more of the history of Revere Beach.

Donation for lunch is $5. Please call the Senior Center by Thursday, April 4, at 978-664-5600 to make reservations for lunch and if you need a ride.
