WAKEFIELD — The 23rd annual National Letter Carrier Food Drive, Stamp Out Hunger, will take place tomorrow, Saturday, May 9.
Please leave non-perishable food donations at your mailbox — and the letter carriers will deliver the food to the Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry. The Food Pantry relies on the Stamp Out Hungerdrive to help stock its shelves and get ready for the summer months when food donations and drives tend to decrease.
Currently, the Pantry’s most needed food items include: Shelf stable milk (boxes), peanut butter, jelly and jam, Rice-A-Roni and pasta side dishes, canned chicken, tuna, brown beans, beef stew and tomatoes. Also, spaghetti sauce, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, vegetable oil and mayonnaise.
Toiletries such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, bath soap and shampoo are also needed.
