WAKEFIELD — Stephen Daniel Rufo, 66, of Wakefield, died Saturday, Nov. 1 at his home.
Born in Melrose on May 24, 1948, he was the son of the late Nazareno and Pamela (Rigione) Rufo.
Steve was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1967 and he later graduated from Webster University. He served in the Navy during Granada and Panama as Navy SEAL and then joined the Army Reserve where he served for 23 years and had retired as a Major.
He was a member of Disabled American Veterans.
Steve is survived by his fiancée Lisa Roberts of Wakefield, his sister Linda Rinaldi of Hillsborough, N.H. and his niece Gina Rinaldi Furey.
A visitation will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield at noon.
Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
