ROWLEY — Virginia (Woodbury) Davis, 99, died on Nov. 2 surrounded by her loving family at the Sea View Nursing Home in Rowley.

She was a 97-year resident of Lynnfield, where she was a member of the Lynnfield Centre Congregational Church and many social groups. She was an avid sports fan and camper and an accomplished knitter. Above all she loved her family.

She was born on May 19, 1915 and was a graduate of Wakefield High School and Melrose School of Nursing. She was an RN for many years at Melrose Hospital and later a private duty nurse for several Lynnfield residents.

She is predeceased by her husband Carl, with whom she shared 65 years of marriage; her son Walter and her four sisters Gladys Davis, Muriel Russell, Betty Lyon and Barbara Bean. Virginia is survived by her brother, Bruce Woodbury and his wife Brenda of Reading; and her two sons, Carl Davis and his wife Joy of Newburyport and Kenneth Davis and his wife Nancy of Ipswich. Also, Virginia is survived by five grandchildren: Brian and his wife Jody of Ipswich, Kevin and his wife Leah of Newburyport, Craig and his wife Michelle of Amesbury, Michael and his wife Judy of Groveland and Matthew of Boston. She leaves seven great-grandchildren Nicole, Will, Cashel, Mae, Riley, Sadie and Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will held on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 10 a.m. at the Lynnfield Centre Congregational Church, 5 Summer St., Lynnfield followed by interment at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield.
