Fotinoobit-webWAKEFIELD — Stephen Scott “Scotty” Fotino, 57, of Wakefield passed away peacefully at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on January 2, surrounded by his family, after a brief illness.

Born in Lynn on July 9, 1959, he was the son of Patricia (Pari) Fotino of Wakefield and the late Franklin J. Fotino.

He was a Wakefield resident for the past 46 years. Scotty was a graduate of Wakefield Memorial High School, Class of 1977. His life’s work included concrete construction, concrete placement and roofing. To call him a hard worker would be an understatement.

His passions included reading, fishing, hunting and music.

He was a member of the Crystal Community Club, past board member and bailiff.

He had a deep love for his family and his greatest joys were his nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. A keen mind, kind word and quick wit set him apart. He had a brilliant mind and a loving heart. He will be sorely missed.

In addition to his mother, Scotty is survived by his sister Linda Murray and her fiance Richard Kinch, his brother Wallace Fotino and his wife Kathy, his brother Gary Goodwin and his wife Pamela, his brother Robert Fotino and his wife Irene, his sister Doreen Sheppard and her husband Jack, his sister Tina Cresta and her husband Jimmy, his sister Heidi Rossicone and her husband Brett, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday January 5, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 6, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
