WAKEFIELD — The Warrior wrestling team ended the 2016 calendar year in style with three impressive wins on Saturday morning in a quad-meet which was held at the Charbonneau Field House. Wakefield posted victories over Triton (33-21), Danvers (53-27), and Woburn (42-30) as it increased its record 8-2-0 on the season.

Senior captain Jack Spicer earned three victories at the 138 weight class in all three meets to reach the 100 victory milestone for his career. Two of those wins came by forfeit and the six points he gained against Woburn for his 100th win came the easy way as the Tanners didn’t put in anyone to wrestle the senior.

Triton Meet

The Warriors won six out of the 11 contested weight classes to turn away the Vikings.

CJ Hagen, a freshman, and Chris Alves, a junior, both dropped their matches at the 106 and 113 weight classes. Hagen was pinned by Dylan Karpenko at 1:12. Alves lost an 8-6 decision to Vinnie Forni.

The 195, 220, and 285 weight classes weren’t contested.

Danvers Meet

The Warriors cruised to an easy victory against the Falcons. Of course, Wakefield was aided greatly by four forfeits in the meet.
