Supervisor at Suffolk Downs

WAKEFIELD — Steven J. Pini, 63, of Wakefield died Tuesday, Sept. 1, at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
Born in Chelsea on Aug. 25, 1952, he was the son of the late Charles M. and Jennie (Longo) Pini.
Steven was a graduate of Malden High School, Class of 1970, and later went on to attend Wentworth Institute. He had been a Wakefield resident for 37 years. He had a passion for race horses and had worked as a supervisor at Suffolk Downs. He was also a member of the North Shore Old Cars Club and was an avid sports fan.
Steven was the beloved husband of Janice (Wiswall) Pini. He was the loving father of Jaclyn Reppucci and her husband David of Newton, N.H. and Christine Pini and her husband Matthew Oates of Malden. He was the dear brother-in-law of Denise Palermo and her husband David of Saugus, James Wiswall and his wife Kelly and Diane Wiswall, all of Stoneham. He was the loving grandfather of Sam, Madeline and Lilah. He is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Friday at noon. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment to follow.
