Teresa-Smith-obit-webMELROSE — Teresa M. (Gennetti) Smith, 85, passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on June 9.

Teresa was in Malden on January 14, 1930 and was one of 10 children of the late Salvatore and Marianina (Radoccio) Gennetti. She was raised in Malden, graduated from Malden High School and has been a resident of Melrose for the past 50 years.

Mrs. Smith worked as a hair stylist for 20 years and owned and operated Terry’s House of Beauty in Melrose. After she retired Teresa continued to work out of her home in Melrose.

She was a very loving and nurturing person who loved to take care of her family and friends. As an avid walker, you could see Teresa walking all over Melrose and she always had a very warm greeting to everyone she met.

She loved to cook and thoroughly enjoyed all her summer vacations at Cape Cod in West Dennis.

Teresa was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Smith. She was the former wife of the late Frederick G. Capodilupo. She was the cherished mother of Giustino Capodilupo of Ridgefield, CT. She was the loving grandmother of Francesca and Gianna Capodilupo of Ridgefield, CT. She was the devoted sister of Salvatore “Butch” Gennetti and Nancy (Gennetti) Cagno, both of Malden, and the late Daniel, Edmund, Henry Gennetti, Jean Sacco, Anna Puleo, Edith Falcone and Mary Giarratana. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation was held at Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday, June 16, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 17, at 9 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at the Incarnation Church, 425 Upham St., Melrose, at 10 a.m.

Burial at Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.
