Rossino-obit-webMELROSE — Thomas A. Rossino, 60, of Cambridge died at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston on September 19.

Tom was born in Melrose on June 15, 1956 to Thomas and Anna (DiPaolo) Rossino.

He was raised in Melrose, graduated from Malden Catholic, Class of 1974, and from Northeastern University. Mr. Rossino lived in Melrose for many years, Boston for 10 years, Las Vegas, Nevada for 10 years and the past few years in Cambridge and worked in the IT field for many years.

Tom was a free spirit who followed his passions, earned a black belt in karate, was a Grand Canyon hiker with 100 nights below the rim, loved the desert landscape and taking road trips to anywhere,

He was a self-taught musician who appreciated all music and attended many concerts of Carlos Santana and Gary Moore.

He loved his family and friends. Tom was a fun-loving, gentle man who shared life’s joys with his soul mate Karen Tobin.

Mr. Rossino was the loving companion of Karen C. Tobin of Cambridge. He was the beloved son of Thomas R. Rossino and his late wife Anna (DiPaolo) Rossino of Melrose. He was the brother of Sam Rossino and his wife Ann of Plymouth, Louie Rossino and his wife Cindy of Lynn, Anna Bagarella and her husband Peter of Melrose, Mark Rossino and his wife Laura of Tewksbury, Stephen Rossino of Melrose and Mary Staffier and her husband David of Somerville. He was the uncle of Greg, Katy, Matthew, Alexandra, Doug, Tom and Stephanie. Also survived by his beloved pet Girly Girly.

Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Friday, Sept. 23, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Funeral services and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Tom’s name to Dr. James Cleary’s Research Fund, D.F.C.I., P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02884-9168.
