NORTH READING — Town Hall, Flint Memorial Library and the Edith O’Leary Senior Center will be closed on both Thursday and Friday, July 4th and 5th, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
In order to give town employees Friday, July 5 off while providing the public with accessibility to these municipal offices, the following extended hour adjustments have been made to the respective workday hours at each of these buildings.
- Town Hall and the Senior Center will be open late until 6:30 p.m. tonight, Thursday, June 27, rather than closing at 4 p.m. (As previously announced last week, extended hours were also provided this past Tuesday night at both locations. Both buildings are normally open for five hours on Fridays, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
- Flint Memorial Library will continue to open early at 9 a.m., rather than 10 a.m., through Tuesday, July 2. This schedule began Monday, June 24. The library will be open regular hours on Wednesday, July 3, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Trash/recycling delay: As a reminder, trash and recycling pick ups will be delayed by one day due to the July 4th holiday for those neighborhoods normally serviced on Thursdays and Fridays. Thursday’s routes will be collected on Friday, and Friday’s routes will be collected on Saturday. Items must be curbside by 6:30 a.m.
