NORTH READING — The town of North Reading is seeking multiple volunteers to serve on the Conservation Commission. Applications are due Friday, Nov. 15 at noon.
Appointed by the Select Board, the ConCom is responsible for formulating local environmental protection policies and enforcing the state and local wetlands protection laws. A viable ConCom is important to all property owners in town as nearly all construction, renovations, septic installations and landscaping alterations require some form of conservation input and/or approval. Experience is helpful but residents with a willingness to learn about conservation is just as valuable.
Meetings are generally the third Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m. virtually on Zoom. To learn more contact the Conservation office at 978-357-5247.
To apply, complete a Citizen Activity Form on the town’s website at https://northreadingmaboards.vt-s.net/newcaf.php or contact the Town Administrator’s Office at 978-357-5225 to receive a paper application.
