CHARLTON — Victor Nason Jones, 92, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the Overlook Masonic Health Center in Charlton.

Victor was born in Knoxford, New Brunswick, Canada on May 26, 1923, to the late Leslie D. and Ruth Gertrude (Pelkey) Jones. He was raised in Canada and came to Melrose in 1952.

Victor worked as an elevator operator for many years in Boston, then as the sexton and rector at Trinity Episcopal Church in Melrose, retiring in 1986.

After his retirement he continued working part time a Cerretani’s Market in Melrose for a few years.

He was a member of the Fidelity Lodge and the Wyoming Lodge in Melrose and the Kora Shiner Lodge in Lewiston, Maine.

Mr. Jones was survived by numerous cousins, relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 131 West Emerson St., Melrose, on Saturday, October 17, at 11:30 a.m. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Burial at Rolling Knoxford Cemetery in Centerville, New Brunswick, Canada will be private.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Victor’s name to the Trinity Church Memorial Fund, 131 West Emerson St., Melrose, MA 02176.
