MELROSE – The Melrose Chamber of Commerce, the City of Melrose and Signature Sponsor LCM Plus are hosting the 36th Annual Victorian Fair on Sunday, Sept. 11 from 11:30 a.m.– 4:30 p.m.

The fair offers something for everyone.

With close to 200 booths filled with food, games and fun, rides for all ages, local entertainment and local art, the Victorian Fair is a long anticipated event in Melrose. This community celebration will once again feature shopping at Artisans’ Marketplace. There will be local entertainment at Center Stage. Attendees will be able to sample and eat food from around the world. There will be various carnival amusements as well.

Between Upham/Essex and Grove streets, residents can walk along Main Street and visit local businesses, vendors, community organizations and elected officials. Many vendors will offer samples, specials, raffles and other activities at their booths.

A particular exciting feature of the fair is the Big Ticket raffle.

For just $10 per ticket, attendees can take a chance to win one of 16 luxury prizes donated by local businesses. Some of the prizes include a rug donated by Melrose Oriental Rug. Rockland Trust is donating an Apple iWatch. A pink tourmaline and diamond ring is being donated by Perella Jewelers. There will also be a basket of gift certificates to local restaurants.

Residents can buy raffle tickets before the fair in Melrose at Miter Biter, 479 Main St.; Eastern Bank, 441 Main St.; Edward Jones, 502 Main St.; or contact the Chamber office at 781-665-3033. On the day of the fair, residents can stop by the Chamber of Commerce booth at the corner of West Foster and Main streets. Residents do not need to be present to win the raffle.

The Victorian Fair is an active day as well.

Residents can begin the day by running the EMARC 5K sponsored by Marathon Sports in support of people with developmental disabilities. The race begins at 10 a.m. and residents can register to run by visiting theemarc.org.

The Chamber also encourages residents to walk or ride a bike to the Victorian Fair. Thanks to the Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee and Mass in Motion, bike valet services will once again be available on West Foster Street behind Center Stage.
