LYNNFIELD — Vittorio A. Filippone, 84, of Lynnfield died Saturday, January 14, 2017 in Danvers.
He was born in Boston on November 18, 1932 and was the son of the late Antonio and Teresa (Tancredi) Filippone.
He was raised in East Boston and attended the Franklin Institute of Boston and also MIT. A resident of Lynnfield for 42 years, he was the owner of Filippone Contracting of Lynnfield.
Vittorio was the beloved husband of Elena L. (Zambello) Filippone. He was the loving father of Vittorio R. Filippone of New Hampshire, Lucille A. Sirois of Merrimac, Maria Bruinsma of Lynnfield and Jude B. Filippone of Maine. He was the devoted grandfather of eight: Billy, Angel, Michael, Colin, Samantha, John, Jesse and Tanner.
His funeral was held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday followed by a funeral Mass at Our Lady of Assumption Church, Lynnfield. Interment was at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody. Visitation for relatives and friends was held at the funeral home on Thursday.
