WAKEFIELD — The monthly WAKE-UP meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 19 beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the WCAT Stuido on Hemlock Road.

On the agenda: Survey results concerning e-cigarettes, presented by Youth Action Team members, opioid news, suicide prevention and upcoming Narcan training.

In the past month, the Wakefield Youth Health and Safety Guide was inserted into the Daily Item and will be mailed to every home with students in grades 5 through 12. The comprehensive guide lists critical information on substance abuse prevention, mental health and other wellness topics including a three page local resource list.

The Galvin News Flushdebuted in the bathroom stalls at Galvin Middle School this week. WAKE YAT leaders worked with Galvin students to design this monthly newsletter that included “most of us don’t drink” stats, organization tips and information about talking to trusted adults.

The Interface Program is coming to Wakefield thanks to the support of the Board of Selectmen and School Committee. This Referral Service helpline matches callers with licensed mental health providers based on the location, insurance, specialty needs and openings. WAKE-UP will work on a promotion strategy for this important resource.
