WAKEFIELD — The annual Kelly Ledoux-Walsh Memorial 5k and fun run returned to Lake Quannapowitt on Sunday.

It was a great turnout for both the kids’ fun run and the 5K which had nearly 100 participants.

Friends, family, volunteers and generous sponsors came together for the fourth running of the race which honors Ledoux-Walsh, a Wakefield High graduate (‘14) and track and cross country star who would go on to run at Merrimack.

Finishing as the top overall runner in the 5k was Phil Harris of Maynard in 15:23. Harris, a classmate/teammate of Ledoux-Walsh’s at Merrimack, also won the race in 2019 and 2018.

He was followed by Valdir Oliveira (16:11), Tanner Jellison (16:22), Jeffrey Okerman (18:36), Joseph Hurton (19:25), Ian Ritchie (19:25), Ethan Mezikofsky (19:35), Mike Dimauro (19:55), Liam Powers (19:56) and Suzy MacEro (21:07).

Processds of the race will support the Kelly Ledoux-Walsh scholarship fund as well as the WMHS XC/TF Boosters.

The raced organizers were thankful for yet another amazing show of support to Kelly Ledoux-Walsh, a dearly missed friend.
