WAKEFIELD — Clementine “Claire” Fotino Meegan, age 98 passed away Friday, November 8 at The Atria Marland Place in Andover.
She was born and raised in Wakefield and was the daughter of the late Camilla Colantuonio Fotino and Joseph Fotino. She was the oldest of seven children. She was predeceased by sister Eleanor Castiglione and her five brothers Franklin Fotino, Richard Fotino, George Fotino, Robert Fotino and Roger Fotino.
Claire was a graduate of Malden Hospital School of Nursing and Boston University. She served at John’s Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD as part of the United States Cadet Nurse Corps. The remainder of her nursing career involved teaching Nursing at Malden Hospital School of Nursing and Northeast Regional Vocational School.
She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Meegan and the loving mother of the late Ellen Ann Meegan of Stoneham. She is survived by her daughter Maureen Harrod and her husband Leo Harrod of York, ME and her son Barry Meegan and his wife Christine Meegan of No. Truro. She is also survived by her two grandsons Jared Meegan and his wife Kaleigh McGrath Meegan of Norwell and Daniel Meegan of Revere. She was so blessed and proud of two exceptional great grandsons Grant Meegan and Finn Meegan of Norwell.
Family was the most important thing to Claire. Aunts, uncles and cousins were a huge part of her life. Nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews always remained close to her heart. Everyone was always welcome for a visit or meal.
Her funeral service will be held in the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Saturday, November 16 at 12 p.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. Interment, St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
