A loving and caring family-oriented woman

WAKEFIELD — Bette M. Baxter, 80, of Wakefield died on Friday, November 26 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Quincy on September 30, 1941 and was the daughter of the late Charles and Doris (Warren) Doyle.

Bette spent her childhood between Quincy and Calais, Maine. Where she would frequently hitch a ride back down to Massachusetts in her uncle’s Christmas tree farm truck.

She met the love of her life and moved to Wakefield and had been a resident there since 1966. Bette frequently said, “You live many lives in one,” and in her many lives she was a factory worker, lunch lady, flower delivery driver and a home health aid to name a few. Together, Bette and Bill loved to square dance with the Cosmopolitan Square Dance Club, she loved gardening, music, photography, cooking, crocheting and embroidering Swedish weaving, but most of all Bette loved to care for her family.

She was the wife of the late William D. Baxter II. She was the loving mother of Kristin Pizzotti and her husband, Stephen, of Reading; the late William Baxter III and his wife, Victoria, of Middleton; Rachel Fabiano and her husband, Michael, of Reading; and Jeffrey Baxter and his wife, Amy, of Burlington. She was the sister of Charles Doyle Jr., of Calais, ME and the late Joyce Bellino of Medway. She was the sister-in-law to John Baxter and his wife, Carolyn, of Methuen and Andrew Baxter and his wife, Sherrie, of Crestview, Florida. Bette is also survived by her 14 grandchildren whom she adored. She was known to them as Nana B and she wore the name with pride!

Funeral service to be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 11a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home prior to the Service from 9-11 a.m. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
