Talented pianist, successful property developer

WAKEFIELD — On the morning of Wednesday, August 24, David Joseph Palermino, beloved son of Elizabeth and Joseph Palermino, of Wakefield, passed away after battling the effects of a serious stroke for three months.

David was 79 years old and he is survived by his brothers Joseph, of Wenham, MA; Richard, of Sarasota, FL; Paul of Walpole, MA; Anthony of San Diego, CA; and Christopher, of Burlington, VT; his sister, Lorraine Burt, of Roseville, CA; his son David Muraca of Nashville, TN; his granddaughters, Gabriella and Eden; and his beloved partner of 28 years, Pamela Schleich, and her loving brother, Greg Schleich of Woodbury, NY.

There will be a funeral Mass on Friday October 14 at 10 a.m. at the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield, MA 01880 to be followed by a luncheon at Davio’s restaurant in Lynnfield, MA beginning at noon.

All friends and family are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to honor David’s memory can make a donation to the Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield, where many years ago David served as an altar boy and which subsequently became a place of comfort for David and his beloved mother, Elizabeth Palermino.

David graduated from Salem State Teachers College in Massachusetts with a bachelor of arts degree. He was a high school teacher and later became a successful real estate broker and property developer.

His passion, however, was always music.  He was a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston and an extremely talented professional pianist. Throughout his life David managed to operate his real estate business while simultaneously pursuing his passion for music, dancing and ice skating.

David was fiercely independent and had a totally disarming and friendly manner about him that people from all walks of life instantly appreciated.
