Hard working and loving father, founded Dixon Transfer

WAKEFIELD — Mark A. Dixon, 65, of Wakefield, died peacefully in his sleep at home on December 31, 2021. Dedicated husband to Donna Dixon, Mark was born in Chelsea and was the beloved son of the late George and Linnie Dixon. He grew up in Dorchester where he made lifelong friends. He moved to Wakefield in 1981 where he started his family and lived the remainder of his life.

Mark was a devoted father to Scott Dixon married to Corinne of Lynn, Alyssa Dixon of Los Angeles and Jason Rosenwald of Arizona, stepfather to Stephanie Ronan of Peabody and Lisa Jancsy of Wakefield, brother of Debra Benoit of Florida and uncle to Stephen Benoit, Jr. of Minnesota and Stacy Quiles of Florida. He is also survived by his granddaughter and three step-grandchildren and of course, his three granddogs. Mark will be remembered as the most hard-working and loving father, the biggest Patriot’s fan and the constant life of the party.

Mark was a veteran in the US Navy and was the founder of the trucking company Dixon Transfer. He later worked at Hanscom Air Force Base until his retirement in 2021.

His funeral service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday, January 7 at 12 p.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home, prior to the service from 10-12 p.m. Kindly omit flowers.
