A man with a big smile and even bigger laugh

WAKEFIELD — On December 10, Michael (Mike) Levesque, 69, of Wakefield, passed away after a brief illness. A former member of the Wakefield Elks, Peabody Knights of Columbus and Alhambra organizations for many years, he was the father of five grown children and longtime partner of Rose Encarnacao of Wakefield.

A big man with a big smile and an even bigger laugh, Mike was happiest when riding his motorcycle. He loved cruising from spring into fall, and enjoyed participating in Laconia Bike Week. He never met a stranger on the road. Off the road, he spent much of his free time calling bingo, working the bar at the Knights of Columbus and hanging out drinking coffee at “The Dew.”

Mike worked hard all his life and made an honest living as a welder. For years, he worked at Lee Products in Everett, and later had his own business, Levesque Welding. He loved watching history shows, watching Top Gun on full-blast surround sound and trips to Disney World.

Mike was pre-deceased by his mother, Dorothy (Spead) Cummings of Newfield NH; his father, Ledger Levesque of Canada; sisters Robin, Sue and Joan; brother Ronald Levesque, and first wife Mary Rouse of Peabody.

He is survived by his loving partner of nine years, Rose Encarnacao and her daughter Diane; his brother, George; and sisters, Claire, Jacquelyn and Meg. He is also survived by Christine Levesque and his five children: Debbie, Michael, Amanda, Samantha and Sandra (Levesque). He will lovingly be remembered by his grandchildren, Shane, Mikey, Olivia, Emme and Connor (Levesque), Harper, Eris, Ciri, Riker and great-granddaughter, Parker.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, Dec. 19 from 12 – 2 p.m. at Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home & Crematory, 77 Exeter Road (Route 108), Newmarket. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. in Newfields Cemetery.
