LYNNFIELD — Diana Roberts, 78, of Lynnfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 17, 2019. She was a longtime Wakefield resident. Diana was born on April 5, 1940.

Diana was a resilient, vibrant optimist who loved life and lived for her family and friends with deep passion and unwavering loyalty. She was born in East Boston to Leo and Gora Carnabuci, with her brother Anthony (Sonny) Carnabuci. She was a graduate of Fischer College in Boston. Diana raised her four children with her husband of 57 years, Frank Roberts in Wakefield where she was a well-known real estate broker for more than 20 years.

A people person at heart, Diana found real estate was not only a career to her, but also fulfilled her desire to be social, have fun, help others and meet new people. She cherished her “second family” at Century 21 Greers. For the last five years, she fulfilled a longtime passion of volunteering together with her daughter Leslie at The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, a place which was a sanctuary for her. In addition to art, she loved music, theater, dance, cooking, gardening and travelling especially to Italy and summers on Martha’s Vineyard.

Diana was always generous to those in need with her time and resources, and was a kind, loyal and lighthearted friend to all. May Diana’s message to live each day to its fullest while surrounding yourself with family and friends serve as a tribute to her rich and lasting legacy. Some of our greatest memories of mom include our summer trips to the Vineyard, Thanksgiving and Christmas family gatherings, and our New Year’s Eve celebrations. Mom was not only the conductor and orchestrator of these events but always the life of the party. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Frank J. Roberts, her children and their spouses: Keith and Christyne Roberts of Rockport, Stacy Roberts of Wakefield, Darren Roberts of Wakefield and Leslie (Roberts) and Rob Belkner of Cambridge; and her grandchildren, Nicholas, Emily, Derek, Sara, Ian, Noah, Lauren and great-grandchild Logan.

Everyone is welcome to join the family for a public celebration of her life on Wednesday, January 23 from 5 – 8:30 p.m. at Caffe Italia, 21 W. Water St., Wakefield (2nd floor). A private family service will be held at a future date on Martha’s Vineyard, as she wished.
