WAKEFIELD — Laurence Salvatore Tecce, Sr., 83, of Wakefield, died suddenly May 1, 2019 in Melrose. He was born in Melrose on May 24, 1935 and was the son of the late Bernardo and Virginia (Frongillo) Tecce.

He was a lifelong Wakefield resident and a graduate of Wakefield High School. He later served in the United States Army from 1957- 1959. He operated his own motor repair company for many years and was also a retiree of the U.S. Postal Service.

Larry is survived by his fiancé Marlene Westerman of Everett.

He is also survived by his daughter Christina Tecce of Wakefield, his son Laurence Tecce, Jr. and his wife Laura of Newburyport and daughter Rosellen Prowse and her husband Kevin of Wakefield. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Daniel, Stephen, Ryan and Nicholas. He was the brother of Eleanor Kurchin, Leo Tecce and Jean Oliver.

His funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield on Friday, May 10 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-7 p.m.
