BOSTON — Vacation week always creates an extra challenge for the track and field teams and this year was no different. The shorthanded Lady Warriors had to get creative when putting together a roster lineup that allowed for the team victory over a capable Wilmington team on Thursday. The Warriors came away with a 59-41 victory.

The new 2-1 participation rule allowed for some athletes to double in running events for the first time in recent history that made the victory possible.

OLIVIA FETHERSTON didn’t wait too long to break the school record in the high jump this season. The junior tied the 5’4 record (set by Karen LaSaffre in 1988) during the first two meets of the indoor season and on Thursday, Dec. 27, she set the new mark of 5’4.5 at BU. (Donna Larsson File Photo)

Junior Olivia Fetherston had another fantastic day as she was able to break the school record that she tied just a few weeks ago, jumping 5.4.5” in the high jump. The jump also qualified Fetherston for the New Balance National Championship that will be held in New York City in March. Fetherston has been consistent this season jumping 5’4 at the first two meets so it was only natural that she would best those jumps. Her sights are set on flying a bit higher by the end of the season.
