BOSTON — On Dec. 15, the Wakefield High boys’ track and field team traveled to Boston University for their first true indoor meet in two years. The Warriors came away with a 79-21 victory over Watertown and some great performances by a number of the athletes.

In the 55 meters, newcomer Lucas Kehoe was first with a time of 6.97. This time was the second fastest in the league. Ryan Tracy was second with a time of 7.30 and Alejandro Borda was third with a time of 7.65.

In the 55 meter hurdles, Josh Catino was first with a time of 9.83 and newcomer Jonathan Courtright was third with a time of 11.42.

In the long jump, newcomer Jack Ahearn was second with a jump of 16’8 and Josh Catino was third with a jump of 16’2.

In the high jump, Kehoe was first with a jump of 5’6, sophomore Joe Patt was second with a jump of 5’6, determined my misses. Ryan Tracy was third with a jump of 5’2.

In the mile, Braden Carroll won his first varsity race with a time of 5:08. Matt McCoy placed 3rd in 5:13.

James Christie won the 600 meters in a time of 1:34.33. Patt followed up his strong performance in the high jump with a 2nd place finish running 1:34.68.

Sam Bangston won his first race placing 1st in the 1000 meters with a kick to the finish over a Watertown runner and a personal best of 2:58. Shahbaz Anwar was 3rd in 3:11.

In the 300 meters, Bradley Diaz was first with a time of 37.13, Courtright was second with a time of 41.00, and Nick Pillerí was third with a time of 43.39.

The Warriors also swept the 2 mile with Brett McLellan winning his first race in a personal best of 11:16. David LoCoco was 2nd in 11:31, a personal best. Ollie Polster was 3rd in 11:36.

In the shot put, Haris Hodzic was second with a throw of 32’4.

The 4×200 meter relay team of Kehoe, Ahearne, Catino and Tracy placed 1st in 1:44.91.

The 4×400 meter relay team of Christie, McCoy, Patt and Diaz placed 1st in a time of 3:44.44.

Next up at the Reggie Lewis Center today, the Warriors face Wilmington.
