WMHS has four selections, one honorable mention in Freedom division
WAKEFIELD — The Middlesex League softball coaches met recently to make this year’s all-stars selections in the Freedom and Liberty divisions.
The Warriors had four all-stars named. Seniors Emma Kraus and Amanda Boulter, sophomore Alexis Truesdale and freshman Meghan Burnett were all selected. Kraus played third base, Boulter pitched and played outfield Truesdale was a shortstop and pitcher and Burnett was an infielder/outfielder.
One Wakefield senior, Nicole Gasdia, received an honorable mention. Gasdia played in left field.
Kraus was also named Freedom division MVP for the second straight year.
Wakefield has the most all-star selections in the Freedom division. League champion Burlington and Melrose each had three players chosen, while both Stoneham and Wilmington had two all-stars named.
In the Liberty division, Reading led the way with five all-star selections, while Arlington was next with four. Lexington had three all-stars, while both Belmont and Woburn had two. Woburn had the Liberty division MVP as well.
