Chetwynd-obit-webMELROSE — Wayne R. Chetwynd, a lifelong resident of Melrose, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, June 21, at age 60.

Born in Melrose on February 19, 1957, Wayne was raised in Melrose, and graduated from Melrose High School. A small business owner for many years, Wayne worked across eastern Massachusetts as a self-employed window installer for many years.

With simple pleasures in life, Wayne’s younger years were spent boating off the North Shore, or driving his Corvette. As he got older, he enjoyed being “Uncle Wayne” and was very generous to his family. A loyal friend, he had several good buddies who always cared for him deeply. Wayne was always willing to help, took care of his parents when they grew older, and tried his best to look after his neighbors.

Wayne was the loving son of the late Harold R. Chetwynd and Jessie L. “Penny” Chetwynd. He was the loving brother of Donna J. Parsons and her late husband Richard of Wakefield. He was the caring uncle of Heather Nehiley and her husband Joshua of Nashua, NH, and Scott E. Parsons and his wife Debra of Peabody.

Relatives and friends gathered in honor of Wayne’s life during visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Tuesday, June 27 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and again for his funeral service celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
