Obit-Weyland-webBOXFORD — Wendell P. Weyland, 85, of Boxford, passed away March 22 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Melrose on March 14, 1931, son of the late Wendell V. and Helen (Bissett) Weyland.
Mr. Weyland grew up in Wakefield and graduated from Wakefield High, Northeastern, Boston University and Suffolk Law.
He enlisted in U.S. Marine Corps in March of 1952 serving his country during the Korean War attaining the rank of Corporal and was honorably discharged in March of 1954.
Mr. Weyland was a senior partner at Weyland, Clasby and Company, CPAs and Attorney of Lynn.
He was a member of the Second Congregational Church in West Boxford and also a member of Salem Country Club and the Lynn Rotary.
He was the husband of the late Marilyn P. (Schickling) Weyland who passed in 2004 and grandfather of the late Erica Calcagno, who passed away on March 25, 2016.
Mr. Weyland is survived by his longtime companion Joan Leighton of Boxford; his six children Marsha A. and her husband Mario Calcagno of Spring, Texas, Janice W. and her husband Gary Sinclair of Amesbury, Wendy J. and her husband Scott Bee of Boxford, Ronald P. Weyland of Newmarket, N.H., Marilyn D. Weyland of Merrimac and John P. Weyland and his companion Tammie Scott of Newmarket, N.H.; 13 grandchildren: Bryan, Amanda, Nichole, Jessica, Aubrie, Shayla, Chris, Kylie, Danielle, Kelly, Rebecca and Kristen; five great-grandchildren: Hannah, Eliana, William, Kai and Olivia; a brother, Robert Weyland of Oak Grove, Mo.; two sisters, Gail Johnson of Sebastian, Fla. and Susan Raymond of Littleton, as well as several nieces and nephews.
At the request of the family, private visitation and services were held on Monday, March 28, at the Second Congregational Church in West Boxford. Interment followed with military honors in Mount Vernon Cemetery, West Boxford. Arrangements are by the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes, Bradford and Haverhill.
