WAKEFIELD — William A. Teixeira, 85, of Wakefield died April 20 in Reading after a brief illness.
Mr. Teixeira was born in Cambridge on June 7, 1930 and was the son of the late Prospero J. and Wilhelmina (Furtado) Teixeira. He was raised in Cambridge and had been a longtime Wakefield resident.
He was retired from the H.P. Hood Company.
Mr. Teixeira was the beloved husband of the late Lillian (Blatz). He was the loving father of William A. Teixeira Jr. and David A. Teixeira of Wakefield. He was the brother of the late Joseph, James and George Teixeira. He is also survived by his five grandchildren.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 o’clock.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.
