Architect who enjoyed boating, golfing and dancing with his wife

NORTH READING – Joseph V. Tringale Sr. passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024 surrounded by many members of his family.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Lorraine (Porriello) Tringale. He was a caring father of three sons, Joseph V. Jr. of Windham, N.H. and his wife Vivian, Michael of Wilmington, and David of Andover and his wife Carol.  He was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren that he cherished deeply, Joseph S. of Lynnfield, Gianna of Charlestown, Tori of Charlestown, Michael of Wilmington, Michaela, Matthew of Kamuela, Hawaii, and Sarah of Aspen, Colorado.

Joseph was born on Pitts Street in Boston’s West End to the late Sebastiano Tringali and Rafaela (DiMare) Tringali on November 17, 1934, and was brother to the late Vincent, Santo, and Domenic whom he loved dearly. After serving briefly in the Naval Reserve during the Korean War, he attended Wentworth Institute of Technology and the Boston Architectural Center and became a Registered Architect.  He worked for the Ritchie Organization as Director of Technical Operations and taught at the Boston Architectural Center for over 30 years.

A life member of the Knights of Columbus and the Medford Boat Club, he enjoyed racing his N-10 on Mystic Lake and was an avid golfer.  Joseph delighted in the victories of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox, and was a master of telling corny jokes.  Some of his deepest pleasures were dancing with his wife Lorraine, spending time with family and kidding around with his grandchildren. Joseph had a huge heart, always ready for a good conversation, and is already tremendously missed by his family and friends.
